Celebrate Community Bake Day at River Bend Farm! Fresh, handmade pizza will be wood-fired and hot out of the oven for guests to enjoy. At The Ecology School, we teach more than 3,000 students who pass through our Residential Programs each year the importance of food as community. Meals are an opportunity to connect with each other and understand the systems that put food on our plates. The three pillars of our Food Systems education: Food is Energy, Food is Ecology, and Food is Community.
Worldwide Community Bake Day was created to inspire and empower people to come together and share baking traditions around the world. They believe that these community connections can foster creative economies, entrepreneurial growth and the revitalization of town centers. The Ecology School is grateful to our community organizer of this day, the Maine Grain Alliance.
