Outdoor Oven Baking at the Wilson Museum

Nothing whets the appetite like an ocean breeze with the fragrance of wood smoke and baking biscuits wafting through the air. The Wilson Museum will fire up its outdoor oven on Wednesday. October 16. from 12 to 2 p.m. to bake a variety of sweet and savory biscuits. in connection with the Maine Grain Alliance’s Worldwide Community Bake Day.

Visit the backyard of the historic John and Phebe Perkins House to sample biscuits. or pop in a batch of your own favorite bread—it’s a big oven with room for several loaves—or a pie or two! Top off your treat with homemade crabapple jelly from the Museum’s own apples.
