The Maine Grains Grist Mill in downtown Skowhegan will offer a free tour to the public at 2 PM in honor of worldwide community bake day. Maine Grains is not only at the center of the revitalization of Skowhegan Maine, but was founded in 2012 to solve infrastructure challenges that would enable the revival of a regional grain economy. The Grist Mill has served as a model to other projects and celebrations of grain throughout the world.
The tour will last approximately 60 minutes. Visitors can plan on enjoying a wood-fired pizza and craft beer made with Maine Grains products in our on-site café, as well as visiting the Dry Goods Shop to purchase grains, Happyknits knit shop and Crooked Face Creamery also on site!
